Affaire Bleu

I know I'm posting really late regarding the Philippine fashion week, but it's just that I've been really busy with school and all. Today I got the best news - an exemption on my French finals tomorrow!  I had been studying the book since yesterday and just as I was nearing the end a while ago, I got a text from Mademoiselle Dy. Thank God for I have time to update my blog now. So this was what I wore to the one and only day I went to the fashion week.(I really hate college summer classes.) Of course, there's no way I was going to miss the Holiday 2011 collections of my favorite local designers, Sassa Jimenez and Jerome Salaya Ang. It was like shopping on live mannequins. Cross my fingers that my picks fits me! I would have wanted to see Kermit Tesoro's too. Too bad we had a previous commitment and had to watch KAOS instead, the musical circus in Resorts World. It was actually awesome! Cameras weren't allowed so...no pictures to share! The costumes were inspiring. Elaborate and extravagant. My kind of thing if you know what I mean.  No regrets. I could still look at all the fashion week collections on the internet over and over again. But circus pictures, even if there were...Not really. That just wouldn't make any sense.

Meet my mom who is becoming hotter year after year. Wish I could still wear something like this by the time I reach my 40's.

My top picks:(I wasn't able to take decent pictures so I just searched them over the internet. Credits to stylebible.)

1.Sassa Jimenez
I adore the balloon skits so much. I've never seen anything like it exactly.

I want this cardigan cover-up in my closet now.

2. Jerome Salaya Ang
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Jerome Salaya Ang is a genius in his own way. The first leftmost is something I would wear in real life. I change my mind. I'll wear everything!

3. Eric de los Santos

This kind of reminds me of oriental Japanese paper origami.

And this...the Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 ready to wear. Don't the obi belts look familiar?

If you want to see something out of the ordinary, something outrageous, the fashion week is the place to go. You don't really get to see bizarre fashion statements everyday. (Unless you see me often. Kidding! I am nowhere in the level of these fashionistas.) These heelless shoes are slowly climbing up in my wish list. I don't really know where to wear them though. This guy here actually designed the shoes himself. I know what you're thinking. Is it hard to walk in them? Hell yes of course! Imagine how dangerous it was going up the escalator in these. Diehard fashionistas do not sacrifice style for comfort though. I asked if it was for sale but he said it was still a prototype. Which makes me think...should I venture into my own shoe designing? But then I thought... Would anyone buy them? I know I would be designing something impractical to wear on a daily basis. Maybe I'll create one for myself someday. Someday...

  1. I'm diggin' the look. Nice styling! And man, your mom looks so young! I wouldn't think she's your mom if I saw the two of you together somewhere.
