Preview Best Dressed Ball 2011

Last Friday, one of the most awaited fashionable events took place in Seventh High. Preview magazine held its annual Best Dressed Ball where they awarded 10 public personalities who manifested exemplary performance with their styles. Garbed in 70's attire(this year's theme), celebrities, socialites, models, designers, stylists, make-up artists and other guests dressed to impress. Here are some of the snapshots I managed to take in between squeezing into crowds and gasping from fashion overdose.

Alodia Gosiengfiao proves that cosplay isn't her only forte.

I see a  human disco ball here! I wonder how the dress feels like.

Blogger Kryz Uy did not really dress to the 70's theme, but she still looked amazing in this Jerome Salaya Ang piece.

You have no idea what I would give up to have this kind of body. Bianca Valerio surely stood out in this form-fitting gown and her blond locks.

One of Kermit Tesoro's muse. Just wait until you see his(this is not an error) shoes.

I love how Daniel Naval did not look tacky in a head-to-toe striped outfit.

One of the Philippines' most sought after stylists, Daryl Chang.

Laureen Uy is looking fabulous in her all-white jumpsuit.  Worthy of the best dressed award indeed.

Ria Bolivar can wear anything and still look stylish. She's the Agyness Deyn of the Philippines.

The Best Dressed Woman of the Year...Iza Calzado! She didn't wear the sunglasses with her Jun Escario gown by the way. Some random guy handed it to her to pose with for a few shots.

It was so unfortunate that we had to leave early. Good thing we bumped into Pauline Suaco-Juan, Preview editor-in-chief on our way out. She looks elegant with her matching shoes.

Zara Madness

ZARA's end-of-season sale is something to always look forward to. Just make sure you get there in the first 3 days or else you'll find yourself disappointed with a rack of broken sizes. Here are some of the must-have items I found in this shopping haven. My heart skipped a beat when I saw these two pairs. How I wish I could get them both, but my mom is going to kill me if I did.(Speaking of my mom, is it just me or is it weird that she likes shopping in the trf section? You will find me scouring racks somewhere in the woman section. I believe it should be the other way around. Anyway I consider her really cool! After all, she is my human credit card.) Sale doesn't necessarily mean super cheap. Only cheaper in this case. So can you guess which lucky pair went home with me?

Now we go to the next rack which I cannot get enough of. Blazers! I am having a thing for these classic wardrobe staples I'd buy all of them if I had the means.

Too bad each costs 4990 pesos. That would severely impair me financially.

Back to reality. I have to cram all of my assignments and readings for next week. Excuse my iphone photos. I wasn't able to bring my camera and besides, there's the no cameras policy in stores.

Skater Girl on the Loose

Let me tell you a little secret. I wanna be a skater girl! I think it's just so cool especially when the pros do some exhibition. Last Sunday was the usual family day for us and my dad who is in his second childhood since forever decided to put his most recent toy buy to the real test! (We've used this only in our parking lot before.) What better way to do that than to head to the Fort where open space is everywhere. My dad's a freak when it comes to these kinds of toys and he wants us to play them with him. Too bad he doesn't have a son. Now I think he wants one of us to fill in that spot. Now to the skateboard. This one here is not your typical skateboard. Introducing the latest innovation in skateboard technology...the electric slash motor skateboard! All you have to do is get on it, press the remote and voila you are in the state of motion. Amazing right? But balancing and maneuvering are challenges I'm still working on to perfect. When that happens, I'll be making a vimeo:)Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Here's my playmate last weekend! Check out the plastic gun-type remote he's holding. That's what you use to operate this e-skateboard!

Stormy weekend not getting in my way

Just a little update before I surrender myself to a 50-page reading for law class. For Fathers' Day, my family and I went to an overnight trip to Subic. Rain or shine we decided to push through with it. At least my dad did. There was a storm that weekend and he wanted us to go to the beach! My dad's a crazy beach boy :) Being the obedient(most of the time) daughter that I am, I got my ass in the car. We didn't really do much of anything except to eat and sleep. Here are some random shots taken when the rain stopped for a while!

Vintage outfit/Doc Martens/Maris earring/bag from Baguio

My most recent buy! Feather earring from Maris. I was more than satisfied when I received the package! It did not disappoint at all. Truly, what you see is what you get. I have a thing for feathers now. I suddenly remember Cruella De Vil's attraction to the dalmatians' fur. Not that I would kill animals for it! It's more of having a deeper understanding of an obsession.

We dined at my all-time favorite restaurant there - Xtremely Xpresso Cafe. They have almost every kind of food crammed in that little space. It's like a restaurant/cafe/burger-pizza place/gelato bar/dessert place! AMAZING RIGHT? What makes it even better is this Tuna and mushroom balls, which I had for dinner. This is the first time I saw such thing. Great option for those who want to do away with the meat!

Did I mention we ate breakfast there too? A drink I'll never get tired of.
