No it's not the presidential white house. Nonetheless, it is still a white house. I don't know if someone actually lives in here or it is being leased but it provides the perfect background to a mysterious yet picture perfect setting. I feel like I'm in another country because of the whole ambience which of course is reflected in my outfit. I really love having the occasional cold weather experience. It gives me the challenging task of digging my closet and using things I never thought I could wear. I have to admit that I still dream of the day I'll get to wear thick fur coats, ear muffs, leather gloves, knee-high boots and a shawl on top of another all at the same time. I would roll endlessly on the snow-covered pavement, make my snowman and take lots of photos! Yes that is every girl's dream living in a tropical country. For the time being, I shall just content myself with the 18 degree celsius Baguio has to offer .
Did I mention that Baguio has so many "ukay-ukay" shops? "Ukay-ukay" is the local term for thrift shops. Literally, it means to dig in the hopes of finding something. Here is one of the shops we passed by. I didn't go in this one because I went in a bigger one a friend recommended. The photo below showcasing a variety of shoes was from that big thrift shop. Actually it was more of like a big bazaar with a maze of thrift booths. There are 3 floors and every time you go down (yes the 3 floors are arranged this way, one has to go down to get to the next floor) a new set of great finds await you. Patience is the virtue here. Shopping can be tiring when everything is jam-packed in one place. One has to bring out the inner scavenger in himself to be successful. I didn't have much time because I was with my family, but I managed to get a knitted white shawl. It's triangular but really huge. Perfect for the hot weather when I get back to Manila.
This is the last batch of photos from my Baguio trip! Let's end with the magnificent garden view from our room and me bidding you a sweet goodbye.
