Poised for take off. That's how I would describe this look. I enjoy traveling and discovering new places, immersing myself in others' cultures and then incorporating them into my life. What makes me the person that I am is my ability to be flexible and adapt to changes. I can only hope my next plane ride heads to New York as the destination!

Pocahontas

Fu-Jen University was the host of this year's Global Leadership Seminar. With a lot of greenery inside the campus, the environment is definitely conducive for learning and snapping photos! Everyday was always hot and humid making this dress a perfect choice. It was only later that day did I realize that it resembled  Pocahontas' yellow dress. It wasn't the first time I received remarks about my resemblance to the disney character, but the fact that it has already reached an international level leaves me more shocked than ever. Do I really look like her? You decide!

A Taste of Taiwan

So much was going on the past week that I failed to find time to update you with anything. To make up for that, I shall bombard you with a load of photos and information. Gen and I were among the privileged students who were chosen to represent the Ateneo University for the 4th GLP Seminar held in Taiwan. It was a one of a kind experience for both of us especially since it was our first time in the country. We got to meet lots of people from Japan, Korea and Taiwan and al I can say is that it was an explosion and fusion of different Asian cultures. I had the opportunity to brush up on my Mandarin too. It's been quite some time since I had Chinese classes back on high school and I found it a struggle to arrange the words in my head.

Fu-Jen University has its own clothing shop inside the campus where students taking up fashion courses can actually sell their creations. It was very unfortunate that I wasn't able to check it out and maybe even make a few purchases. It was still their summer break and so everything was closed.

Also, I had the very weird encounter with this dog. It began chasing me and I got scared to death. I think my shouting scared the hell out of it too!

There were so many activities prepared for us there. This field work for example was a very informative and educational one. We went to Chengjheng high school, a juvenile rehabilitation center for teenage boys who have committed minor crimes. There was a temple across it and just like what I usually do, I made a wish! I hope it comes true soon;)

The National Palace Museum was a vast area containing artifacts and other remnants of the Chinese dynasties long ago. The massive collection impressed all of us. If only I could take pictures and show you. But I guess that's how they keep the people coming. The whole place was jam-packed with foreigners. It seemed more like a mall than a museum at the first glance. 

Taiwanese Fashionistas

Every country has its distinct culture and of course style. I enjoy traveling around the world, exploring places unknown to me and embarking on new adventures. Recently, I was given the opportunity to be part of something which entailed me to go to Taiwan. The reason for the traffic in my updates. I shall talk more about what it was all about in my upcoming posts.  For now, let's just say I met lots of awesome people and spotted these fashionistas!
