HK street fashion report

Clothes and food aren't the only amazing finds in Hongkong. Individual style is another. One can wear anything without getting ridiculous head-to-toe stares from people. An 8GB memory card isn't enough to store all the fashionable people I spotted while doing my rounds. Get inspired with these fabulous fashionistas from Hongkong! Thanks for letting me take your pictures!

Wishing I was a child again

My dad always tells me how good the Hongkong government is. Personal bias maybe because he grew up there? It was only until we visited his grandma's sister (Yes she's still alive and strong at 90 years old!) that I realized how good their system was. We went to this government subsidized housing place where she has been living for the past 10 years or so. It was really well-maintained compared to what I had imagined. I thought it was going to be some slum area, but wrong to the nth level was I. This father and son just came out of the condominium. I think it's so sweet how he takes his son for some play date. I remember how my dad use to carry me everywhere. As a child, I hated walking and so he would carry me on his shoulders all the time. How I wish I could do that again! Now if only I were 50 pounds lighter and him 10 years younger.

I miss being smaller than the playground! It looks like the cyclops just invaded the kids' territory!

Lucky and Unlucky

Did I mention I only brought clothes for half my stay in Hongkong? I didn't expect I wasn't going to be able to amass as much stuff as I did last year and so here's the day when I had to wear something I bought the night before for the sake of having something on! The floppy hat and boots are exceptions of course. I've been looking everywhere for this specific type of hat and I'm so glad I finally found it!

Quirky finds

Hongkong is like a treasure island. You literally have to scour the little nooks to uncover amazing things. This little store across our hotel contained the most adorable pieces ever. There's no way you'll be walking the street and bumping into a double!

Of course, I had to make my usual stop at Doc martens. It's the most accessible place I could get my beloved boots from.

Weekday Getaway

Dropped everything and left. Yes that's exactly what I just did 24 hours ago. I don't know how I'll be catching up with everything I'm missing in school right now. This has really been a busy month for me. Guess I'll just cross the bridge when I get there.

I really love HongKong and all of its hustle and bustle. You can't tell weekends from weekdays nor night from day. People are all over the place especially this July! It is the best time to go with the spring SALES here and there. All I need is more money to spend!

Oh and finally after 3 months, my cambridge satchel arrived. It took a while to have my initials engraved and have them shipped to the Philippines. But I'm telling you that it was worth the wait!

Nokia Surprise

Nothing is better than coming home with a package of Nokia N8 waiting for me! Being part of the top 50 finalists for the Nokia x ELLE Search for the Next Style Correspondent, I now have the privilege to enjoy this latest technological innovation presented by Nokia throughout the competition's duration.  I can snap photos and take videos of anything whenever and wherever in style. Watch out for my new photos using the N8! This will certainly be my new fashion accessory.
