Let me tell you a little secret. I wanna be a skater girl! I think it's just so cool especially when the pros do some exhibition. Last Sunday was the usual family day for us and my dad who is in his second childhood since forever decided to put his most recent toy buy to the real test! (We've used this only in our parking lot before.) What better way to do that than to head to the Fort where open space is everywhere. My dad's a freak when it comes to these kinds of toys and he wants us to play them with him. Too bad he doesn't have a son. Now I think he wants one of us to fill in that spot. Now to the skateboard. This one here is not your typical skateboard. Introducing the latest innovation in skateboard technology...the electric slash motor skateboard! All you have to do is get on it, press the remote and voila you are in the state of motion. Amazing right? But balancing and maneuvering are challenges I'm still working on to perfect. When that happens, I'll be making a vimeo:)
Skater girl essentials: Loose top, baggy jeans, comfy shoes and a bag to throw everything else in!
Here's my playmate last weekend! Check out the plastic gun-type remote he's holding. That's what you use to operate this e-skateboard!
Proper timing and extra caution must be observed in crossing the street on a skateboard!

Stormy weekend not getting in my way
Just a little update before I surrender myself to a 50-page reading for law class. For Fathers' Day, my family and I went to an overnight trip to Subic. Rain or shine we decided to push through with it. At least my dad did. There was a storm that weekend and he wanted us to go to the beach! My dad's a crazy beach boy :) Being the obedient(most of the time) daughter that I am, I got my ass in the car. We didn't really do much of anything except to eat and sleep. Here are some random shots taken when the rain stopped for a while!
Vintage outfit/Doc Martens/Maris earring/bag from Baguio
My most recent buy! Feather earring from Maris. I was more than satisfied when I received the package! It did not disappoint at all. Truly, what you see is what you get. I have a thing for feathers now. I suddenly remember Cruella De Vil's attraction to the dalmatians' fur. Not that I would kill animals for it! It's more of having a deeper understanding of an obsession.
We dined at my all-time favorite restaurant there - Xtremely Xpresso Cafe. They have almost every kind of food crammed in that little space. It's like a restaurant/cafe/burger-pizza place/gelato bar/dessert place! AMAZING RIGHT? What makes it even better is this Tuna and mushroom balls, which I had for dinner. This is the first time I saw such thing. Great option for those who want to do away with the meat!
Did I mention we ate breakfast there too? A drink I'll never get tired of.

White House
No it's not the presidential white house. Nonetheless, it is still a white house. I don't know if someone actually lives in here or it is being leased but it provides the perfect background to a mysterious yet picture perfect setting. I feel like I'm in another country because of the whole ambience which of course is reflected in my outfit. I really love having the occasional cold weather experience. It gives me the challenging task of digging my closet and using things I never thought I could wear. I have to admit that I still dream of the day I'll get to wear thick fur coats, ear muffs, leather gloves, knee-high boots and a shawl on top of another all at the same time. I would roll endlessly on the snow-covered pavement, make my snowman and take lots of photos! Yes that is every girl's dream living in a tropical country. For the time being, I shall just content myself with the 18 degree celsius Baguio has to offer .
Did I mention that Baguio has so many "ukay-ukay" shops? "Ukay-ukay" is the local term for thrift shops. Literally, it means to dig in the hopes of finding something. Here is one of the shops we passed by. I didn't go in this one because I went in a bigger one a friend recommended. The photo below showcasing a variety of shoes was from that big thrift shop. Actually it was more of like a big bazaar with a maze of thrift booths. There are 3 floors and every time you go down (yes the 3 floors are arranged this way, one has to go down to get to the next floor) a new set of great finds await you. Patience is the virtue here. Shopping can be tiring when everything is jam-packed in one place. One has to bring out the inner scavenger in himself to be successful. I didn't have much time because I was with my family, but I managed to get a knitted white shawl. It's triangular but really huge. Perfect for the hot weather when I get back to Manila.
This is the last batch of photos from my Baguio trip! Let's end with the magnificent garden view from our room and me bidding you a sweet goodbye.

Proud Pinoy
My third installment from our Baguio trip! As you can see above, this is their tribal costume. I'm really into native prints these days. The vivid colors and patterns draw so much attention it's as if it's shouting "Look at me!". We went to Mines View Park where there were different local products for sale at very cheap prices. That I guarantee you.
My best buy! Feather earrings. I just had to stop at that one stall which sold this. I wish I had bought more:( I was actually disheartened when I learned that the Bloggers' Bazaar coincided with this trip.(I wanted to shop for Aranaz bags!) When I got back, I saw a photo overdose of bloggers who attended the event wearing all sorts of feather earrings! I realized the connection we all had despite the distance:)
Can you see all those feathers?! I just love love love 'em! I have this friend who just got back from the States and she had this fine featherhead clamped to her hair. I instantly fell in love with it and I just got to have it. Problem is...it's not yet available here in the Philippines! I don't even know if it'll ever be. But I'm working on obtaining one somehow. One day you'll just see me with it. I hope that would be real soon because I could not stop thinking about them.
Here are some of the goodies I took home with me.
It's the Philippines' Independence Day today! MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS! What better way to celebrate it than to support our local products! That's all for now. Paalam. (Goodbye.)
